June 23, 2020 (Atlanta, Georgia) – Lee & Associates is pleased to announce another successful closing. Kalera is slated to begin operations in their new, 76,995 square foot space in Ellenwood, GA on January 1, 2021.

Lee & Associates’ Derek Riggleman and Trip Ackerman were engaged on the deal in late 2019 by Kalera, a leading vertical hydroponics company that specializes in growing produce in technology-driven, controlled environments. Challenged to find 75,000 square feet in proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Lee & Associates identified a state-of-the-art facility that met their occupancy deadline and provided their need for growth. Mr. Riggleman and Mr. Ackerman led transaction management and competitive lease negotiations, getting the tenant a healthy tenant improvement package and executed a long-term lease.

Mr. Riggleman said, “This was a challenging assignment due to the unique nature of the client’s business and the robust market environment in Atlanta where a building can be there one day and gone the next. With the help of deep landlord relationships and fantastic market knowledge, we were able to negotiate a great deal for the client.”
