Lee & Associates Brokers the Sale of Former Toys R Us Distribution Center

Addison, TX — August 16, 2018 —Lee & Associates Dallas/Fort Worth, one of the largest privately owned national real estate firms, has completed a new sale transaction for an 836,561 square foot industrial space located at 3800 Railport Parkway, Midlothian, TX.

When it was announced in March that all of the Toy R Us stores would be closing, this also meant that their distribution centers, including one located in Midlothian, TX, would be closing.

Reid Bassinger and Trey Fricke had been evaluating the Dallas/ Fort Worth market to find a modern building that could be purchased below market value.  “The Dallas/Fort Worth industrial market continues to be within the top two markets in the country so it took the bankruptcy of Toys R Us to find a property that matched the value play we were looking for,” said Fricke.

Trey Fricke and Reid Bassinger of Lee & Associates Dallas/Fort Worth represented the buyer, MPI Group, a subsidy of Malouf Bedding, and the seller was Toys “R” Us, Inc.

Malouf produces a wide range of bedding accessories from pillows and sheets to mattress protectors and toppers. Founded in 2003 and based out of Logan, Utah, Malouf offers premium sleep solutions in a range of price points to thousands of stores across the U.S. This recent distribution center purchase will act as their south-central hub.
