38-year commercial real estate veteran Tom Whelan tapped to oversee day-to-day operations  

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (November 7, 2024) – Lee & Associates, the largest broker-owned commercial real estate firm in North America, is excited to announce that Tom Whelan, a principal in the Lee & Associates Maryland office has been tapped to oversee the day-to-operations and growth of the company’s Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia office. Whelan brings more than 38 years of commercial real estate experience to this new role, including the past twelve with Lee & Associates. Whelan, together with Allan Riorda, co-founded the Maryland office in 2013 and have since expanded the operation to include nearly 20 full-time brokerage professionals, property management staff, and marketing and administrative personnel.

The Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia office offers a full slate of commercial real estate brokerage offerings targeting the commercial office, flex/office, and retail asset classes. The group also provides tenant representation, investment sales, capital markets, development, and property management expertise.

Supporting Whelan will be Kristin Rebeck, Senior Vice President, a 17-year real estate veteran who specializes in the commercial office, office/flex, and industrial/warehouse asset classes, as well as Gideon Price, who primary handles tenant and landlord leasing representation. Price is an Associate with the group and has more than five years of real estate experience.
