Lee & Associates – Houston Received Distinguished Awards at National Conference

 

HOUSTON (NOVEMBER 2020) – At this year’s annual Lee & Associates 2020 Broker Summit, multiple team members from Lee & Associates – Houston received awards for their hard work, dedication and innovation in the industry.

 

For the second year in a row, Lee & Associates – Houston Principals Taylor Schmidt, SIOR, CCIM and Reed Vestal, SIOR, CCIM received the Circle of Excellence Award for the highest production of any land broker in the Lee & Associates network. This award recognizes top brokers across Lee & Associates’ national offices for highest production numbers in their specialty for the previous year. Schmidt and Vestal work as a team and specialize in land, industrial and investment brokerage. Together, these principals have completed over $910 million in transactions to date and brokered the sale of more than several thousand acres of commercial land.

Managing Principal Mike Spears, SIOR, CCIM and Lee & Associates – Columbus Principal Todd Spencer, SIOR, CCIM received the Lee & Associates Innovation Award. This is the second year in a row that a representative from the Lee & Associates – Houston office has received this honor. This award celebrates Spears’ and Spencer’s innovative weekly video chat called “Lee Talks” that has turned into a nation-wide company tool used to train younger brokers. In an effort to encourage consistent communication during COVID-19 while the team worked from home, Spears and Spencer began hosting virtual video conference meetings three to four times per week. These virtual meetings, dubbed “Lee Talks,” quickly grew from the Houston office to multiple video conferences with Lee & Associates offices across the country. Today, over 250 people attend each call and they invite guests from various industries, as well as leaders of Lee & Associates offices, to speak on trends, changes, advice and best practices.

 

“Being recognized for something I am passionate about is the highest honor,” said Spears. “I love training our younger brokers and sharing lessons for those starting out in this tough industry. Lee Talks has allowed me to fulfill this passion even in the wake of a pandemic.”
