A food business has leased a 61,000-square-foot industrial site in Totowa to expand its North Jersey footprint, brokers with Lee & Associates – WBE announced Tuesday.

In a news release, the team said regional snack food company Wise Foods will occupy more than half of the 84,000-square-foot building at 70 Maltese Drive. The Berwick, Pennsylvania-based maker of potato chips and other salty snacks is moving there from a Bergen County location.

The brokers said the single-story industrial facility boasts 16-foot ceiling heights, 10 loading docks and a pair of drive-in doors. They also highlighted the four-acre site’s proximity to Interstate 80, the Garden State Parkway, routes 46, 23 and 3 as well as Newark Liberty International Airport.

Andrew Stypa, Daniel Badenhausen and Kyle Janoczkin of Lee & Associates – WBE assisted the tenant in the transaction, while Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, Longpoint.

“This property’s Passaic County address, offering easy access to major thoroughfares, was very attractive to our client,” Stypa said. “We conducted a six-month site search on behalf of Wise Foods. Ultimately, this property’s functionality, features and size created an ideal leasing scenario and enabled our client to meet its additional space requirements.”

The team noted that Wise Food has an additional lease deal it expects “to close shortly.”
